SCAA Soccer Update

WOW!!!. THANK YOU, South County Families, for trusting in our recreation soccer program.

Thanks to the work of the SCAA Board of Directors and the Soccer Board we are happy that soccer is back in full swing at South County. We have all worked hard to put the right Covid-19 protocols in place to ensure that our players and families are safe. Our continued focus is on participation, learning and acquiring life skills that will go a long way on and off the pitch.

At the beginning of August, we had 40 registered players in our Recreational Program and was not sure how we would get these families back out learning and playing the beautiful game of soccer during Covid-19. Today, that number has grown to approximately 200 players as our community continues to feel confident that we have a safe environment for their kids. As a matter of fact, we continue to get registrants on a daily basis as more families are excited about getting their kids back on the field of play.

There is still time to register at www.scaasoccer.net. We look forward to your continued support and we will continue to share our success stories.

SCAA Soccer Update

Over the past several months the SCAA Board of Directors along with the Soccer Staff have been working tirelessly to bring the beautiful game of soccer back to the field during these Covid-19 times. We are happy to announce that both Travel Soccer and Recreational Soccer are in full swing and that is thanks to our great families that have trusted in our safety protocols and our programs.

We have eight travel soccer teams that have started competition in the Club Champions League (CCL) and National Capital Soccer League (NCSL). We had a late start to the season, but the teams have settled in and we practice weekly at the South County Middle School with games being played in and around the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. All of the teams are very competitive in their Divisions and we are continuing to make our community proud with outstanding athletes and amazing support from our families. Travel Soccer will continue to keep registration open at www.scaasoccer.net. We are always looking for players to increase our roster sizes. We have openings for the following teams and age groups:

Recreation soccer has seen the biggest increase in participation since the announcement of the start of Fall Season, which started two weeks ago. We hired a new Recreation Soccer Director, Alex Pinto, and he has been doing a great job getting the program to a high level even with Covid -19 stipulations. The kids are out practicing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the South County Middle School and games are being played on Saturdays at the same location. Our first weekend was a huge success. Our community has been a great support for the Recreation Soccer program as we have seen 400% increase in registrations since the start of August. We are also getting calls and emails on a daily basis for kids to join the program. We will continue to keep registration open for those families are feeling more comfortable with how we have rolled the program out in these trying times. Our age groups run from our Nano Program, which are ages 3 and 4 all the way up to ages 12 and 13. You can register at www.scaasoccer.net.
