SCAA Spring 2020 REC Soccer Refund/Credit Policies & Procedures 

    Dear SCAA Soccer families, As you all know, we suspended the Spring 2020 Rec Soccer season a few weeks ago with the full intent of resuming and completing the season. With the State of Virginia, Fairfax County and Fairfax County Schools deciding to close parks and schools for most, if not all, of the calendar covering our Spring 2020 season, it is with great disappointment that we now find it necessary to cancel the entirety of our Spring 2020 Rec Soccer Season. We thank all of you for your patience during our efforts to make the Spring 2020 season happen and as we formed specific policies regarding the refunds or credits of Spring 2020 Rec Soccer Registration fees.    SCAA was established as a partner to all of our families in creating programs that foster excellence, teach values, and enrich lives through athletics and challenge students to reach their full potential.  We are very grateful to lead a membership that commits significant time and resources back to our organization and our community.   We have been hearing from an increasing number of you in the few days regarding refunds for Spring 2020 registrations.  In difficult times like this, we aim to strike a balance between the fiscal considerations around the financial health of our nonprofit entity and those of each of our member families.  More specifically, in offering refunds or credits back to member families, we must take into account expenses that we incur associated with setting up and administering all of SCAA activities beyond the actual games, practices and clinics we offer.   In taking all of the factors into thoughtful consideration we have decided that the refund/credit policy for Spring 2020 Rec Soccer Registrations will provide each family with three options to select from as follows:  

1. A credit of 100% of your Spring 2020 Rec Soccer Registration payment applied to Early Summer 2020 Ball Masters Program Registration Fee (2 weeks of soccer training and games with professional coaches this June and/or July). 

2. A 75% refund of your Spring 2020 Rec Soccer Registration payment.

3. A donation of your Spring 2020 Rec Soccer Registration payment to SCAA.

*  Please note:   The refund or credit options listed above cover only the payments for Spring Rec Soccer Registrations.  Uniforms are non-refundable.  All donations, generally or as part of this policy, are tax deductible and all donations will receive an email receipt from SCAA.  Travel soccer is a year-round registration and is excluded from this policy. 

Please register for your refund or credit request by April 30, 2020.  For each Spring 2020 Rec Soccer Registration, if no refund or credit registration under this policy is completed prior to April 30, 2020, the Spring 2020 Rec Soccer registration payment will be considered a donation to SCAA.   If you have any questions, please contact the Rec Soccer Director, Marcelo Valencia at [email protected]
